The term child in law defers depending on the law providing for the same. Section 2 of the Children and young persons Act, Cap 13 defines the term child to mean the person under the age of twelve years. But section 3(5) of the same Act as amended by SOSPA (Sexual Offences Special Provision Act) talks of a child of less than 18 years of Age.
