The two accused were convicted of stealing a motor vehicle (P.C. s. 265) and shop breaking and stealing (P.C. s. 296(1) ). Compensation was awarded.
Held: A compensation award must properly value the property not recovered and order that the complainant be compensated by both of the accused in equal proportions. The district court was directed to make such a valuation and order.
