Accused was convicted on his own plea apparently (the judgment does not specify ) to charge of manslaughter. He had been involved in a pombe party.
Held: “This is another death arising from excessive drinking at pombe parties and, while the accused has a claim to leniency, yet these acts must be discouraged by the court.” Accused, who had been in custody for 9 months, was sentenced to 20 months’ imprisonment.
