In the application for adoption of a child the Court considers 2 things namely;
1). Whether the applicant is a fit person to be granted an Order of Adoption; and
2). Whether such Order will be in the best interests of the infant’s welfare. See In the matter of The Adoption Act; subject Infant Sharmin Jalalu [1986] TLR 218
